Get to Know Me: My Tattoos.

Hey lovelies!
Today's post is on tattoos. Personally I love them, I want lots of tattoos so I expect there to be another post like this up in a couple of years, haha!

My first ever tattoo was this:

Sorry for the pure awkward angle of this, this was taken just after it was done and it's a very difficult tattoo to get a picture of. Anyway, I think it took around 30-45 minutes, I can't really remember. When I first got this I'd of said the pain was about a 7/10 but after getting my second tattoo, I realise I was naive, haha, it was actually probably a 5/10. It healed pretty well, didn't scab up too much but was the most annoying thing ever when it went through it's itchy stage because of where it is - it's on my ribs btw, just realised I didn't mention that. It's lyrics from a letlive. song called Dreamer's Disease, I'll link it here. It's my favourite band and the song just really resonated at the time.. My mum had passed away a year previous and I just felt that our family home was (and still is) always a little bit empty without her and that your home should be where your heart is, but since my home felt empty, so did my heart. I just got the tattoo to remind myself that my home isn't empty, she's always with us and I guess it was a little way to just commemorate how I felt at that time and that I will come forward from it, I won't always feel empty and my heart won't always be broken.
The full paragraph of lyrics that I chose this from says:

They say home is where the heart is,
so where do you keep your bed?
And if home is where the heart is,
then what do I do...
with this empty chest?

My next tattoo was more of a special sort of tribute to her rather than to how I felt about her passing. Originally, there's another photo of both her and my brother (for anyone who doesn't know, my brother passed away not long after my mum did) where they are cuddled up that I wanted tattooed but it's too small and the detail would be lost so I decided to get two separate portraits. Since my mum passed first, I decided to get her portrait first.

This is when it was literally just finished so it's very swollen and it's an awkward tattoo, again to get a photo of because of where it sits but I absolutely love it. I attached the photo the portrait came from too and I think he done an absolutely amazing job. I got it done by Colin from Beneath the Surface in Cumbernauld, here is their facebook page, all the artists in there are amazing but obviously I highly recommend Colin - he done my first one too. This took about 3 and a half/4 hours and it was painful in some parts, not so bad in others. Towards the elbow ditch it was absolute agony, but altogether I'd give it about a 7/10 for pain. I think there were moments where it was a definite 9/10 but it wasn't so bad in other places, and anyway, it was so, so worth the pain!

I swear I planned for my brother's portrait to be my next tattoo but the place I mentioned above did a Friday the 13th flash sale and I had to get this cute lil guy, he's on my leg just above my ankle and I love it. It was done by Kyle and he was amazing, can't wait to book up for more things with him! This was about a 5/10 for pain - really wasn't too sore at all.

Well, that's it for my tattoos! I have my brothers tattoo booked in for the 15th September but I'll do a separate post on it! :)

Get to Know Me: My Piercings.

Hey lovelies!

I thought I'd just do a little post on my piercings and tattoos (past and present) since they are something I absolutely love about my appearance. I love artwork on the body and appreciate tattoos and body modification in general. So I just thought a little post on here would be good to do :)
This post will be my piercing one and I'll do another on tattoos to break it up a little!

My first ever piercing was my earlobes - I don't really remember much about it as I was about 8 or 9 I think and it was done with both ears at the same time with a gun. I remember feeling a wee bit woozy afterwards, probably just from the shock of having them done both at the once but other than that I don't remember it being particularly sore. I took them out ages ago, not because I didn't like them, I just never really wore earrings and still don't really reach for them to this day.

Get to Know Me: 10 Favourite Films.

Hey lovelies!

Just another little get to know me post, I hope you enjoy! All images were just taken from google images! What are your favourite films? Leave them in the comments below :)

Dirty Dancing

I'm allowed one really cheesy chick flick.. Right?? Plus, Patrick Swayze!!

Sex and the City

Okay, maybe just two really cheesy chick flicks.. I absolutely adore Carrie & Big though, especially Big ;)

A Nightmare on Elm Street

Was actually introduced to this via the 2010 version but I actually much, much prefer the 80's versions (albeit that they're pretty cheesy now) with Robert Englund.

Stand by Me

This just reminds me of my brother, brilliant, classic film. And I fucking love Corey Feldman & River Pheonix. Also the first film I watched with my current boyfriend after we realised we both loved it (soulmates, am I right?!)

Drop Dead Fred

Rik Mayall, total genius and I couldn't have a post like this without featuring him. Cried like a baby when he died and watched this on repeat like 50 times. Wish I'd had an imaginary friend like Fred, haha!

The Labyrinth

Again, cried like a baby when Bowie died. This is a classic and I loved it when I was younger, love it now. Also reminds me of my big brother.

Silent Hill

Dying to play the game but just really love this creepy thriller. Such a good film.

Beauty and the Beast

I actually have hundreds of favourite disney films but I had to choose only one, which would be Beauty and the Beast - I remember when I was younger thinking Belle was amazing and I think the message to people from this film is really important.

Saw

Okay, I like cheesy films. There, I said it. I couldn't not include these. I love really over the top gory films and these films just take the top of the cake for it.

Freddy vs Jason

I did say I liked cheesy films... I just love this, not going to elaborate or try to make excuses, I just do, okay?!

Thank you for reading!

Get to Know Me: 10 Fave TV Shows.

Hello lovelies!
Today I bring you my favourite TV shows as another way to get to know me! I hope you enjoy. What are your favourite TV shows?

House M.D.

I am a huge fan of Hugh Laurie. I think he's amazing and this is a show I could just sit and watch for hours. He's amazing in it.

Tattoo Fixers

Is it just me or does the pic for this look very cheesy?? Anyway, I love tattoos and I love seeing peoples shit tattoos so I can laugh, especially if the situation they got them in is ridiculous. So this is pretty much a perfect TV show for me!

Friends

Cult classic. No explanation needed.

Sons of Anarchy

Unfortunately, Charlie Hunnam is in this and his American 'accent' is horrific but other than that I really love this TV show. Binge watched it with my step-brother and we couldn't get enough of it. Prepare to have your heart broken though..

Sex and the City

I'm in love with this TV show, I love every single one of the characters and everything about them.

Jackass/Wildboyz

Basically the same as it's made by the same people so I've included it as one. Both absolutely hilarious, disgusting at times but very worth it. Could watch it & their movies for hours.

Pretty Little Liars

This is doing it's rounds on social media for being really popular just now and for good reason. However it is starting to get quite cheesy so not sure how long this will be my fave for, haha!

Orange is the New Black

Again, very popular but for good reason. All the characters in this are amazing and it's really funny, just a really enjoyable TV show.

Bottom

Couldn't not include this...

Geordie Shore

I was stuck between including this and Keeping Up With the Kardashians as my really shit reality tv show but chose this, it's just much funnier.

Thank you for reading!

15 Things 2015 Has Taught Me.

Hey there!

Long time no post! Happy New Year and all that!
Welcome to 2016, the year where I swear to God I'll actually regularly post on here! :P (Every 3 days to be exact)
To kickstart this year I figured I'd do a post on a few things 2015 has taught me. Not going into detail, just giving them in a few bullet points! Here goes...

  • Not everything can be in your control and thats OK.
  • Always be courteous of other people. You never know what's going on behind closed doors.
  • Be patient
  • If someone makes a rude comment about you, the problem lies with them. Not you. They're the insecure ones in the first place to have to make themselves feel better by speaking about you.
  • When anxious, simply remove yourself from the situation as much as possible and as quickly as possible. It may look rude/ignorant but it's worth it.
  • It's important to always stay positive.
  • If someone cares for you, they will make an effort to stay in your life. If they don't, they are not worth it. Also remember this is a two way street.
  • Not a single thing on this Earth is perfect. So there's no point trying to be.
  • Stop comparing yourself to other people (kind of similar to the last one but important nonetheless)
  • Open up more. Never feel afraid to talk to someone, especially if you need it and never bottle up your emotions.
  • Have more faith in yourself.
  • Life can be difficult but there is always light at the end of the tunnel. You just have to fight to get there sometimes.
  • It's important to try to love yourself. No matter how hard it is. There is only one you after all.
  • Just because makeup isn't an academic thing to do with your life, doesn't mean you're not smart. It's okay to be more creative, too.
  • You are NOT what people say you are.

I hope you enjoyed these little things that 2015 has taught me, maybe some of you can relate, I don't know! Anyway, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day, and I'll see you again soon on here!
