Quick and Easy Makeup

Hey,

Today I thought I'd do a quick and easy makeup look that you can do pretty quickly in the mornings - whether you're rushing around for school/college or work this makeup look can be done pretty quickly whilst also still looking really nice!

For this look I used:
Anastasia Dipbrow in Dark Brown
Illamasqua Brow Cake in Gaze
Maybelline Brow Drama brow gel
Makeup Revolution Ultra Cover & Correct concealer palette in light
MAC Wedge eyeshadow
MUA Highlight in Iridescent Gold (I used this on the face and eyes)
Anastasia Contour Kit
Rimmel liquid Liner
Soap & Glory Thick and Fast mascara
Illamasqua Shard and MAC Velvet Teddy mixed

Rose Gold Eye Makeup Look

Hey!

Today's post is on this rose gold eye makeup that I've been wearing loads recently because I love it so much, the colours are super pretty and flattering!

For the eyes/brows I used;
Anastasia Dipbrow in Dark Brown,
Illamasqua Brow cake in Gaze
Maybelline Brow Drama brow gel
Makeup Revolution Ultra Cover & Conceal palette in light
Makeup Geek Bitten, Peach Smoothie and Grandstand Eyeshadows
Makeup Revolution Awesome Metals in Rose Gold
Soap & Glory Thick and Fast Mascara
Rimmel liquid liner

For the face/lips I used;

Rimmel True Match + L'OReal Infallible foundations
Anastasia Contour Kit in light-medium
Rimmel Blush
MAC MSF in Soft & Gentle
Illamasqua lip pencil + Shard and Resist lipsticks mixed
NYX Dewy Setting Spray

For the eyes I started off with a base of concealer to cancel out veins and redness on my eyelids, also to carve out my brows so I could clean up any mistakes I'd made. Next I powdered it using the banana shade from the Anastasia contour kit just to set it down and make sure it would stay all day. I started off with a little bit of Bitten by Makeup Geek in the crease, barely dipping my brush for product so that the pigmentation wasn't too strong as I wanted this to be quite soft and blended. I blended out any edges I did end up having very softly with Peach Smoothie by Makeup Geek. I then put a very (and this is important) very thin layer of Makeup Revolution's Awesome Metals cream shadow in Rose Gold and then layered Makeup Geek's Grandstand shadow over top of the cream base. The reason for it having to be a thin layer is that this product tends to crease quite a bit if you apply it quite thickly and obviously, we don't want that! Haha. Next I just added a winged liner, added Bitten very softly to the lower lashes and then added mascara and I was done! :)

So, there's the look! I hope you enjoyed and I'll have a new post up soon :)

Thanks for reading!

Quick Little Superdrug Haul.

Hey!

So in the last couple of weeks I picked a couple of things up that I'd been dying to try from Superdrug - all things which I will do reviews on once I've used them a bunch and know my thoughts on them!

So, I got the Barry M Fine Glitter Dust in Gold Iridescent, it was £4.59 and I thought this would be perfect for the inner corners, to use as a highlight (because it is very fine, barely feels like glitter) and for cut creases and such. It also looked like a very cheap alternative to MAC's Reflect Gold glitter! I'll let you all know how I get on with this when I get to using it properly.

Next up was the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in the shade Tranquility, for £3. When I swatched this in store it looked like a much more matte version of one of my MAC lipsticks (one which I wish was matte as well) so I decided to pick it up too! Again I'll let you all know how I get on with this. It's a gorgeous colour though!

Lastly are the MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighters in Iridescent Gold and Pink Shimmer, both £3. Originally, I just swatched these and decided that I didn't need yet another highlighter... So I carried on my way around Superdrug and swatched things but kept going back and looking at these and looking at the swatches and just completely falling in love! They ended up being in my hands before I knew it - and luckily too, because they were the last ones!

I hope you enjoyed this little mini haul, will be posting my reviews as soon as I get to know my thoughts and all these products! :)

Thank you for reading!

Urban Decay Electric Palette: Swatches + Review

Hey lovelies!

As it was my birthday recently, I got a £30 gift card to House of Frasers which I happily spent in Urban Decay on a palette I've been eyeing up for what seems like forever. It's the Urban Decay Electric palette.

I also bought a mini primer potion and it's super good too! Might do a review on that of how my eyeshadow lasts with and without it..

Excuse the flash but I was in terrible lighting so I had to do what I had to do. Here are the 10 beautiful shades that you have in the palette to work with and actually, a pretty decent double sided brush considering normally they're not that great.

From left to right there is: Revolt, Gonzo, Slowburn, Savage, Fringe, Chaos, Jilted, Urban, Freak and Thrash.

These eyeshadows are all immensely pigmented and people say it's hard to work with but I actually find them easy to work with, easy to build up and you can use other palettes/eyeshadows you have in combination with these to make it more "wearable" for everyday use. The palette has very pretty packaging, a decent sized mirror and ten absolutely awesome shades I feel like this will be secure and also a good purchase for my makeup kit as well as to use for myself. My favourite of the shades are Chaos (the royal blue), Urban (the deeper, shimmery purple) and Savage (the hot matte pink).

I totally think this is worth the money, I think the palette is super pretty and definitely brings out more of a creative edge with me whenever I pick it up (which has been more or less everyday since I bought it!) and I can see myself getting the use out of it... Even using some of the eyeshadows as liners with my Illamasqua Sealing Gel, it's just such a cool palette and I'm really enjoying working with it and playing with it! Obviously if you don't really like colourful eyeshadows, this isn't going to be the one for you but I'm glad I bought it as I feel like we are completely makeup soul-mates.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Winged Out Eyeshadow Look.

Hey lovelies!

Today's little makeup post is on a winged out eyeshadow look. I never tend to go with this unless I'm wearing liner but I actually really liked the way this turned out when I done it so I thought I'd do a little post on it!

I just packed on the Mesmerised eyeshadow by Makeup Geek all over the lid with a little bit of Makeup Revolution Awesome Metals in Rose Gold in the inner corner. I cleaned up the edges with a baby wipe and blended out any harsh lines but other than that, I was done with this look because I really loved how it turned out!

I used the Soap and Glory Thick & Fast Mascara, Anastasia Dipbrow in Dark Brown, Illamasqua Brow Cake in Gaze for the brows and mascara. For the face I used Rimmel True Match foundation in Ivory, Anastasia powder Contour Kit in Light-Medium, MAC MSF in Soft & Gentle and MAC's Velvet Teddy very lightly dabbed on the lips.

Favourite Everyday Makeup Eyeshadows

Hey lovelies,

Sorry for the lack of posting, I will get back into the swing of things soon! Today's post is about my favourite 'everyday makeup' eyeshadows! The three eyeshadows I reach for the most on a day to day basis, in other words.

From left to right: Cocoa Bear, Shimma Shimma and Mesmerised (all from Makeup Geek)

They are all beautiful colours and so easy to use from day to day! I can rarely ever go a day without using Cocoa Bear in my crease, it's just the perfect warm brown and goes with almost every look. Shimma Shimma is an absolutely stunning inner corner/brow bone highlight and it's also stunning all over the lid! Mesmerised is just such a gorgeous, unique shade and I love it for something quick to throw on that instantly makes it look like you've made an effort!

So that's it from me today! What are your favourite day to day eyeshadows?

Five Fave Songs Right Now

Hey lovelies!

Sorry about the lack of posting, I've been super busy with college inductions and actually starting college so I've not had much time to write/take photos for blog posts! Anyway I'm back with another 5 Fave Songs Right Now that I think you should all totally check out! My first post on this is here.

In no particular order:

I know two of their songs featured in the last of this post but I honestly can't help myself, I've been listening to nothing else but their new album If I'm the Devil and I just can't get enough of it! My fave lyrics from it are:
"Just so you know, instead of be held I'd rather behold,
And it shows - I've never been whole"

I've loved Beartooth for absolutely years now! They are just such an awesome band and Caleb's (the front man of the band) lyrics are always just so relatable and I tend to gravitate towards bands like that. My favourite lyrics from this song are:
"You told me I would back out, I would break down,
I'm not even putting up a fight
But I'm learning my worth is more than your word."

I generally just love Jason exploring all of his thoughts in his song lyrics which is why yet another letlive. song has appeared here, haha! I just really love this album man, no other explanation needed. My fave lyrics are:
"There's no one here to watch me as I fall asleep,
they assisinate the ones who dream."

Again, I just have always loved Beartooth and Caleb's lyrics. They are generally my go to "angry music" if you will haha. My fave lyrics are:
"I might be in too much debt with the hell in my head."

I used to absolutely LOVE OM&M and they were my favourite band and just for nostalgia's sake I've been listening to them again and completely fallen in love with this song all over again. My favourite lyrics from it are:
"I'll play the Romeo, you play the Juliet.
The sun won't set until you appear.
Cause I know you're the one, my love, my love."

Birthdays..

Hey!

So, it's my birthday on the 29th August and I'm turning twenty! It seems pretty surreal to be turning 20 when I still feel like 15 most days. I don't feel like an 'adult', haha. Anyway, my post today is going to be a little bit more personal because I'm sure there are loads of people out there who could relate!

Basically, I lost my mum in 2013 exactly 3 weeks after I turned 17 which would've been hard enough on it's own but I then lost my brother in the February of 2014. Ever since, birthdays (understandably) have been something that I never really want to celebrate. Of course I know that that's what they'd want me to do, I know that and I always do celebrate because life goes on after all and I have to get on with my life but it still doesn't change my feelings.

I obviously miss them both so much every day, days like birthdays/christmas and anniversaries make it that little bit worse though because you just know in your heart that you need and want them there.

Turning 20 just seems like such a huge milestone in my life to not have my mum there with me. When you're younger you expect your mum will be with you always, to hold your hand through at least half of your life but for me, that was all ripped away from me when I was barely an adult and I've never been able to get over it. I feel like she should be here and be celebrating all of her babies no longer being teenagers... It's just scary to think that I'm only 20 - only got exactly 17 years and 3 weeks with her and it feels like no time at all. It's not fair and it just makes me sad all the time.

As for my brother not being here, it's unfair too - he was only 33 when he passed away. That's only 13 years older than I'm going to be! I feel sad that he barely got to live and properly experience life and everything it has to offer. It's so sad to think that your own head can completely tear you apart (which his did) and I always feel like there is a definite hole in the room at family dinners when he isn't there - mostly cracking silly jokes! :)

Anyway, I just thought since I was feeling a bit 'meh' about my birthday I'd do this little post.. Thank you for reading!

20 Important Things to Remember.

Hey lovelies!

Seeing as it's my 20th birthday on the 29th August I figured I'd do a couple little personal posts! Anyway, here are 20 important things to always remember.

  1. Family is number one. Never take them for granted, spend time with them, cherish them, love them. They are yours and always will be.
  2. Friends are a close second. You'll go through many friends, some you're still talking to, some you can't even look at. That's ok. They were there when they were supposed to be.
  3. Your body weight/shape fluctuates. Stop stressing about it.
  4. You are beautiful no matter what your skin is like, what your hair looks like, what weight you are etc.
  5. Be proud of yourself, you have done good things today.
  6. Learn to accept yourself - be loving towards yourself and your body, you only get one after all.
  7. You are so important to people, don't you ever let yourself forget it.
  8. If you're miserable, talk to someone, there is always help.
  9. Do not succumb to peer pressure. If you don't want to do something, don't and vice versa.
  10. Treat others how you would prefer to be treated.
  11. Your school years may not be the best years of your life and thats OK, mine sure weren't and I'm perfectly fine with that.
  12. Nobody is perfect. Not a single soul (except maybe Angelina Jolie)
  13. Always go after what you really want in life.
  14. Follow your dreams.
  15. Never go to bed on an argument, always sort things out.
  16. It's okay to not be okay. You will be one day.
  17. If you don't do well in school, it's not the end of the world - you can fix that!
  18. It's impossible to keep absolutely everybody happy.
  19. Put your happiness first.
  20. You will kiss many frogs until you meet your prince/princess.
Well, there's 20 important things to remember from me! I hope you enjoyed :)
I enjoyed writing them! It's hard to keep things in perspective sometimes so this will be good for me to even look back on and remind myself of whats important.

My Brow Dream Team!

Hey lovelies!

So after around 3/4 years of having to fill my eyebrows in (because I have barely ANY hair where I should!) and countless products bought, I think I have finally found my brow dream team.

Here it is:

From left to right it is the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara, Illamasqua Brow Cake in Gaze (sidenote: I have had this since late 2014 and I use it almost daily and look how much I still have!!) and lastly, Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown. I've almost finished this after over a year having it and using it every day!

I start off with the Dipbrow and define the lower line of my eyebrows and do the same on top and fill it in going from the tail of my brow to the front and when there's less product on my brush I brush it upwards at the front of my brow. Then I go in with the Brow Cake and darken the tail of my eyebrows as I don't actually have any hair there and finally go over with the Sculpting Mascara!

If you'd like to see me doing it then check this video out! :)
Normally I just clean them up after with whatever concealer I'm using at that time!

I hope you enjoyed this post, I'd love to hear what your fave brow products are! :)

Top 5 Must Follow Instagram Accounts

Hey lovelies!

Sorry about the delay in blog posts, I've not been very well and could barely stop sneezing/coughing long enough to sit down and write Tuesday's post so I decided to just give it a miss this one time and do one today if I felt better. Thankfully, I do so here I am! :)

I decided to do a must follow Instagram accounts on only people that are similar to me in that they don't have a huge following because I feel like they should have a much bigger following and deserve the recognition! So, in no particular order, here are my top 5 smaller Instagram accounts you should be following:

Mark's Golf Day/Fundraising Night.

Hey!

So for anyone that doesn't know, my big brother, Mark passed away on the 3rd February 2014. He suffered from mental health issues throughout most of his teenage and adult life. He was only 33 when he died and it broke our family and his friends hearts. He was very much a loved, wonderful guy by everyone who knew him and I always feel blessed to have not only known him but have him as my big brother and another fatherly figure to me!

Anyway, since last year, a few of Mark's closest friends have decided to do an annual sporting event in his memory which of course, my family were happy for them to do. They decided on a golf tournament where around 40 guys who knew and loved Mark all get to compete and have a good day in memorial of him. There's a trophy (amongst other prizes) that the guys taking place can win. The trophy gets engraved every year with the winning team member's names!

Anyway along with the golf tournament, this year there is a fundraising night where people can donate to the Scottish Association for Mental Health which of course me and my family agreed was an amazing cause!
I'm going to leave the donation page >>>> here <<<< so if you want to donate, you can!

Update:
It's the day after and my stepdad's team won yesterday and getting to hand over the trophy to him along with my two nephews (who are Mark's babies) was amazing and such a lovely experience! The donation page has also passed the £1000 target which honestly is amazing and I am so grateful for Mark's great bunch of friends, my other brother Alan's great bunch of friends and our family who made the day and night amazing!
Thanks for reading, I know it's a bit different but I hope you enjoyed nonetheless!

Golden Bronze Halo Eye.

Hey lovelies,

Today's post is a little Golden Bronze Halo eye! I was inspired, in all honesty, by the weather to do this halo eye, haha! You'd think in July it'd be somewhat nice weather... but no, no it's not. It's rainy and gloomy and sometimes cold! That's what I get for living in Scotland I suppose! Anyway, I figured that I could put a little bit of glittery sun on my eye :)

5 Fave Songs Right Now.

Hey lovelies,

As something a little bit different I thought I'd do my 5 Favourite Songs right now!

Luckily for me, 3 of my favourite bands have recently released new music! So I can't not include one song from each (although it might be hard to pick just one) since that's pretty much all I've been listening to all week!

The Throwback Tag.

Hey lovelies!

Today's post is just a tag that I fancied doing as something a little bit different! I'm also going to tag a lovely girl called Sarah to do it on her blog, here is the link to it she posts a fab mixture of things from beauty products and reviews to her long distance relationship & how she copes with it to just current events in the world! I highly suggest checking her blog out.

Get to Know Me: My Tattoos.

Hey lovelies!
Today's post is on tattoos. Personally I love them, I want lots of tattoos so I expect there to be another post like this up in a couple of years, haha!

My first ever tattoo was this:

Sorry for the pure awkward angle of this, this was taken just after it was done and it's a very difficult tattoo to get a picture of. Anyway, I think it took around 30-45 minutes, I can't really remember. When I first got this I'd of said the pain was about a 7/10 but after getting my second tattoo, I realise I was naive, haha, it was actually probably a 5/10. It healed pretty well, didn't scab up too much but was the most annoying thing ever when it went through it's itchy stage because of where it is - it's on my ribs btw, just realised I didn't mention that. It's lyrics from a letlive. song called Dreamer's Disease, I'll link it here. It's my favourite band and the song just really resonated at the time.. My mum had passed away a year previous and I just felt that our family home was (and still is) always a little bit empty without her and that your home should be where your heart is, but since my home felt empty, so did my heart. I just got the tattoo to remind myself that my home isn't empty, she's always with us and I guess it was a little way to just commemorate how I felt at that time and that I will come forward from it, I won't always feel empty and my heart won't always be broken.
The full paragraph of lyrics that I chose this from says:

They say home is where the heart is,
so where do you keep your bed?
And if home is where the heart is,
then what do I do...
with this empty chest?

My next tattoo was more of a special sort of tribute to her rather than to how I felt about her passing. Originally, there's another photo of both her and my brother (for anyone who doesn't know, my brother passed away not long after my mum did) where they are cuddled up that I wanted tattooed but it's too small and the detail would be lost so I decided to get two separate portraits. Since my mum passed first, I decided to get her portrait first.

This is when it was literally just finished so it's very swollen and it's an awkward tattoo, again to get a photo of because of where it sits but I absolutely love it. I attached the photo the portrait came from too and I think he done an absolutely amazing job. I got it done by Colin from Beneath the Surface in Cumbernauld, here is their facebook page, all the artists in there are amazing but obviously I highly recommend Colin - he done my first one too. This took about 3 and a half/4 hours and it was painful in some parts, not so bad in others. Towards the elbow ditch it was absolute agony, but altogether I'd give it about a 7/10 for pain. I think there were moments where it was a definite 9/10 but it wasn't so bad in other places, and anyway, it was so, so worth the pain!

I swear I planned for my brother's portrait to be my next tattoo but the place I mentioned above did a Friday the 13th flash sale and I had to get this cute lil guy, he's on my leg just above my ankle and I love it. It was done by Kyle and he was amazing, can't wait to book up for more things with him! This was about a 5/10 for pain - really wasn't too sore at all.

Well, that's it for my tattoos! I have my brothers tattoo booked in for the 15th September but I'll do a separate post on it! :)
