MOTD | Mostly Drugstore Items.

I thought I'd do a little Makeup of the Day for you guys! I'm just going to show you all the products (including brushes) that I used today to make my face a lot more presentable to the world.

I should say that I first off washed and moisturised my face and I might do a skincare type post soon, not sure yet! Anyway, so the first thing I used on my skin was the Makeup Academy Pro-Base Primer which claims to flawlessly even out your complexion - I have to say, I don't agree with that. It is a decent primer in that it keeps my foundation on all day, I'll possibly do a review on it soon.

Next, since my skin is super bad just now, I went in with my concealer before I done my foundation. I dabbed it all under my eyes and then all over my cheeks area (I have an insane amount of redness just now all over my face, not sure why) and the concealer I use for this is the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in the shade Ivory 10.

Next I went in with my cream highlighter by Illamasqua in the shade Aurora. This is absolutely gorgeous and highlights perfectly, I love it. I just dabbed it on the highest points of my cheekbones and a little bit down the nose for under my foundation.
So then, using my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, I blended the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation in the shade 010 Light Porcelain into my skin and then with any leftover brush strokes, I dabbed with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge to give my face an even, flawless coverage (I wasn't up for showing the sponge up close because it's embarrassingly dirty)
Now onto powder, I use the Maybelline Fit Me powder in the shade 115. It's a decent powder and keeps me pretty matte all day, which I love. I do prefer the Rimmel Stay Matte one though. I just use a French Connection powder brush with this to set my foundation. I also then curl my eyelashes.
After my powder, I dab a little bit more of the Illamasqua highlighter on to the highest points of my cheekbones again just to give it even more of a pop. Next, I go on to blusher. I use the Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in Santa Rose. It's more of a bronzey-colour rather than a blush for me since I'm awfully pale and don't like many blushers but I like it nonetheless to give my cheek bones some definition. I use the Real Techniques Blush brush with this.
So next I comb my eyebrows through (or what there is of them...) with a little spoolie/spooly? Idk. One of them, anyway! Then I start to shape my brows using an Angled eyeliner brush - it's just one I got out of H&M but it's decent for my brows. I then fill in everywhere that is sparse and make sure they're the shape I want them. If I've made any mistakes, I'll go in with a little lip brush and my concealer to erase the mistakes. I use Illamasqua's brow cake in Gaze for my eyebrows.

I then curl my eyelashes once more and use my YSL Mascara that they no longer do. I then use my No7 Exceptional Definition mascara to use for my bottom lashes since it's teeny tiny.

I have linked absolutely everything I can - if things aren't on sale anymore that's why they're not linked! This is my kind of every day, go-to makeup routine and it's not anything fancy, pretty natural and light. This is what I looked like this morning after all of this:

I am being so overly posey in this photo, I do apologise. But I hope you enjoyed reading this, I enjoyed doing it actually and will be doing more like this in the future I think! I think an eyebrow tutorial (possibly with just step by step pictures will be coming on here soon as I have just now realised how big and bushy my eyebrows are with makeup, yet with nothing on them they are barely there, haha! Anyway, I'm rambling.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Thank you again for reading,

Rachel
