Holy Grails: Top 3 Foundations.

Hey lovelies!
I just thought I'd do a post on a couple of my holy grail beauty items, these are all things I love and will continue to repurchase.

I started these posts with foundations because I think if your foundation looks shit, guaranteed the rest of your makeup will look shit and these three always make sure I definitely don't have that problem.

I'll start with the high end one..

So, this is Illamasqua Skinbase in shade 5, I am probably a 4 or a 3.5 but I was a lot more tanned when I bought this! This is very yellow based which is perfect for counter-acting my redness - which I absolutely love. It's also very full coverage without being too thick or heavy on your skin and I think it's amazing. Always use a good moisturiser beforehand though or it can make your skin look a wee bit funny, haha!

Next is the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation..

I'm in the shade Ivory and this foundation is a medium coverage but definitely buildable. It's really dewy and pretty once it's on but it definitely needs set, which is probably the only thing I don't like about it.

Lastly is Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation

I've lost the lid for this so I do apologise! I'm in the shade Vanilla. This is a gorgeous foundation, very very dewy (which I love) and you don't necessarily need to set it as it does set but still looks dewy. I love it though as I love the shiny disco ball look, makes my dry skin look a LOT better. It's quite a light coverage but can definitely be built to a medium coverage. I use it whenever I feel like I need that little bit more dewy-ness on my face! Absolutely love it.

What are some of your holy grail foundations/base products? I'd love to know!

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed!

Get to Know Me: 10 Favourite Films.

Hey lovelies!

Just another little get to know me post, I hope you enjoy! All images were just taken from google images! What are your favourite films? Leave them in the comments below :)

Dirty Dancing

I'm allowed one really cheesy chick flick.. Right?? Plus, Patrick Swayze!!

Sex and the City

Okay, maybe just two really cheesy chick flicks.. I absolutely adore Carrie & Big though, especially Big ;)

A Nightmare on Elm Street

Was actually introduced to this via the 2010 version but I actually much, much prefer the 80's versions (albeit that they're pretty cheesy now) with Robert Englund.

Stand by Me

This just reminds me of my brother, brilliant, classic film. And I fucking love Corey Feldman & River Pheonix. Also the first film I watched with my current boyfriend after we realised we both loved it (soulmates, am I right?!)

Drop Dead Fred

Rik Mayall, total genius and I couldn't have a post like this without featuring him. Cried like a baby when he died and watched this on repeat like 50 times. Wish I'd had an imaginary friend like Fred, haha!

The Labyrinth

Again, cried like a baby when Bowie died. This is a classic and I loved it when I was younger, love it now. Also reminds me of my big brother.

Silent Hill

Dying to play the game but just really love this creepy thriller. Such a good film.

Beauty and the Beast

I actually have hundreds of favourite disney films but I had to choose only one, which would be Beauty and the Beast - I remember when I was younger thinking Belle was amazing and I think the message to people from this film is really important.

Saw

Okay, I like cheesy films. There, I said it. I couldn't not include these. I love really over the top gory films and these films just take the top of the cake for it.

Freddy vs Jason

I did say I liked cheesy films... I just love this, not going to elaborate or try to make excuses, I just do, okay?!

Thank you for reading!
Remember to let me know what your faves are in the comments :)

Get to Know Me: 10 Fave TV Shows.

Hello lovelies!
Today I bring you my favourite TV shows as another way to get to know me! I hope you enjoy. What are your favourite TV shows?

House M.D.

I am a huge fan of Hugh Laurie. I think he's amazing and this is a show I could just sit and watch for hours. He's amazing in it.

Tattoo Fixers

Is it just me or does the pic for this look very cheesy?? Anyway, I love tattoos and I love seeing peoples shit tattoos so I can laugh, especially if the situation they got them in is ridiculous. So this is pretty much a perfect TV show for me!

Friends

Cult classic. No explanation needed.

Sons of Anarchy

Unfortunately, Charlie Hunnam is in this and his American 'accent' is horrific but other than that I really love this TV show. Binge watched it with my step-brother and we couldn't get enough of it. Prepare to have your heart broken though..

Sex and the City

I'm in love with this TV show, I love every single one of the characters and everything about them.

Jackass/Wildboyz

Basically the same as it's made by the same people so I've included it as one. Both absolutely hilarious, disgusting at times but very worth it. Could watch it & their movies for hours.

Pretty Little Liars

This is doing it's rounds on social media for being really popular just now and for good reason. However it is starting to get quite cheesy so not sure how long this will be my fave for, haha!

Orange is the New Black

Again, very popular but for good reason. All the characters in this are amazing and it's really funny, just a really enjoyable TV show.

Bottom

Couldn't not include this...

Geordie Shore

I was stuck between including this and Keeping Up With the Kardashians as my really shit reality tv show but chose this, it's just much funnier.

Current Go to Everyday Makeup Routine - March 2016.

Hey lovelies!

I change my makeup routine all the time, literally. I barely ever go with the same thing every day but when I'm just throwing on makeup to go and do something out the house that's not particularly special/eventful, this is what I've been wearing.

I always normally start off with my brows so here I used the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown, then I clean them up using the Makeup Revolution Ultra Cover and Conceal palette in light. I usually use that as my eye base as well before setting it with a Pale eyeshadow so it doesn't crease. Next I used my Salted Caramel palette also from Makeup Revolution, firstly going in with a warm transition colour, completely blending it away in the crease and just above it before adding a golden/taupe/brown colour all over the lid. I add liner and mascara and move on to my base.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed!

REVIEW: Illamasqua Pure Pigments.

Hey lovelies!

I got a few pure pigments from my fave brand, Illamasqua and I thought I'd just give a little review on them.

The colours I have are Berber, Android and Furore.

There is a decent amount of product in each which is really good. There is a lot of other colours as well which are gorgeous and I hope I'll get my hand on them one day! Generally to get the best pigment out of them you need a base and I'll show some swatches with and without a base.

Without a base, from left to right: Android, Furore & Berber.

With a base, from left to right: Berber, Furore & Android.

So as you can see the pigment of them is much stronger with a base which isn't too bad and they are unbelievably beautiful. I love these and think they are absolutely amazing! They are a bit pricey but I think they're totally worth it. Love, love, love them.

Thank you for reading & I hope you enjoyed!

Five Tips to Always Remain Positive.

Hello lovelies!

A little more personal post here but I think it's an important one to do. If you're someone who suffers from anxiety (like me) then here are five tips I've learned to stay positive when in a situation that makes you anxious, or just to stay positive in general.

  1. If at all possible, get out of the situation you're in, if that's by going into a different room for 5-10 minutes or by going outside to the fresh air. Do it. It helps. Remember to just breathe as well.
  2. When really down, stop thinking about all the other things in your life that could go wrong, just always think 'It can only go up from here..'
  3. If you're anxious about how you look at all, whatsoever. Begin starting your day by looking in the mirror and saying one thing you like/love about yourself, whether it's to do with your personality or your appearance. I promise it helps with the anxieties and you feel more positive.
  4. Even if you've had the shittiest day on the planet, at least ONE thing would have happened that you would have enjoyed, that was good. Always look on the bright side and focus on the positive things.
  5. Don't let what other people think of you effect you. You are never going to be everyone's best friend. It's best to just learn that now and move on with it. You have who you need.
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed! Just a quick little post today!

Hello lovelies!

I know, two posts in one day, aren't you lucky?!

No really though, I have started up a very personal blog that I think might be good for some of you to look at, or not, it's completely up to you but I'll link it here.

Please don't leave nasty comments or anything - I'm not claiming to be a professional, I'm just opening up a little.

Next post coming up on the 4th, hope you're looking forward to it! :)

All My Makeup Looks from 2015.

Hey lovelies!

A little bit late for this kinda post but I thought it would be a good one to do nonetheless! I actually could barely find any photos because past me was embarrassed about how crappy my makeup photos used to be and now present me is annoyed at past me, but heyho, I'll put what I've got.

Here goes!

January:

I remember this pic! It was from my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette review blog post! I was so happy with this pic at the time and look how good my skin was!

February:

I look at this pic now and think how much I've improved over a year and it's absolutely insane! Haha.

March:

I've always loved playing with blues! And this is also when I was too scared to go underneath the eyes with anything in fear of looking like a panda, now it's my fave thing! Funny how things change!

April:

I'm getting a bit worried at how quickly you can see me slowly improving, this is mental for me to be seeing!

May:

This was my second ever attempt at a cut crease after failing miserably the first time and I was so proud of myself at how this turned out, I loved it! Progress pics are always amazing.

June:

So for anyone that didn't know, this is my boyfriend Daniel and this was the only pic I could find from June! I think this is when my skin was getting particularly really bad so I didn't take many photos at this period of time...

July:

So this is the first picture I took with my new fancy camera and I really loved it at the time because my everyday makeup looked amazing, haha.

August:

This is my friend Robyn, I also for whatever reason couldn't find any proper makeup photos of me from August, so here's a pic from my birthday!

Septepmber:

Being very super posey.

October:

Massive hair chop and my Halloween Vampire Goddess makeup! :)

November:

This is the first time I played around with the Makeup Revolution Salted Caramel palette and completely fell in love. Also the first time I fell in love with taking photos like this, regardless of how my skin was looking...

December:

Here are my last looks of the year that were my favourites, two pretty similar neutral gold ones and a lovely colourful blue!

I hope you enjoy and continue to read my blog to see the same post this time next year! :)

Thank you for reading!
