5 Fave Songs Right Now.

Hey lovelies,

As something a little bit different I thought I'd do my 5 Favourite Songs right now!

Luckily for me, 3 of my favourite bands have recently released new music! So I can't not include one song from each (although it might be hard to pick just one) since that's pretty much all I've been listening to all week!

I highly suggest checking her blog out.

Get to Know Me: My Tattoos.

Hey lovelies!
Today's post is on tattoos. Personally I love them, I want lots of tattoos so I expect there to be another post like this up in a couple of years, haha!

My first ever tattoo was this:

Sorry for the pure awkward angle of this, this was taken just after it was done and it's a very difficult tattoo to get a picture of. Anyway, I think it took around 30-45 minutes, I can't really remember. When I first got this I'd of said the pain was about a 7/10 but after getting my second tattoo, I realise I was naive, haha, it was actually probably a 5/10. It healed pretty well, didn't scab up too much but was the most annoying thing ever when it went through it's itchy stage because of where it is - it's on my ribs btw, just realised I didn't mention that. It's lyrics from a letlive. song called Dreamer's Disease, I'll link it here. It's my favourite band and the song just really resonated at the time.. My mum had passed away a year previous and I just felt that our family home was (and still is) always a little bit empty without her and that your home should be where your heart is, but since my home felt empty, so did my heart. I just got the tattoo to remind myself that my home isn't empty, she's always with us and I guess it was a little way to just commemorate how I felt at that time and that I will come forward from it, I won't always feel empty and my heart won't always be broken.
The full paragraph of lyrics that I chose this from says:

They say home is where the heart is,
so where do you keep your bed?
And if home is where the heart is,
then what do I do...
with this empty chest?

My next tattoo was more of a special sort of tribute to her rather than to how I felt about her passing. Originally, there's another photo of both her and my brother (for anyone who doesn't know, my brother passed away not long after my mum did) where they are cuddled up that I wanted tattooed but it's too small and the detail would be lost so I decided to get two separate portraits. Since my mum passed first, I decided to get her portrait first.

This is when it was literally just finished so it's very swollen and it's an awkward tattoo, again to get a photo of because of where it sits but I absolutely love it. I attached the photo the portrait came from too and I think he done an absolutely amazing job. I got it done by Colin from Beneath the Surface in Cumbernauld, here is their facebook page, all the artists in there are amazing but obviously I highly recommend Colin - he done my first one too. This took about 3 and a half/4 hours and it was painful in some parts, not so bad in others. Towards the elbow ditch it was absolute agony, but altogether I'd give it about a 7/10 for pain. I think there were moments where it was a definite 9/10 but it wasn't so bad in other places, and anyway, it was so, so worth the pain!

I swear I planned for my brother's portrait to be my next tattoo but the place I mentioned above did a Friday the 13th flash sale and I had to get this cute lil guy, he's on my leg just above my ankle and I love it. It was done by Kyle and he was amazing, can't wait to book up for more things with him! This was about a 5/10 for pain - really wasn't too sore at all.

Well, that's it for my tattoos! I have my brothers tattoo booked in for the 15th September but I'll do a separate post on it! :)

Top Tips for Dry Skin

Hey lovelies,

Today we're talking dry skin.

I am someone who suffers from dry skin on my face. Mines is so bad actually that it's really flaky and I can't stand it. It makes my makeup look like shit and it makes it look like I've not had a drink of water in about 50 years, haha!

Here are my top tips for dry skin:

  1. Exfoliate! I can't stress how important this is! Try to make sure you are using a facial exfoliant at least once a week. I wouldn't recommend anymore than twice though cause sometimes exfoliating your skin can make it a little bit drier and feel quite 'tight'. If you're like me and have quite sensitive skin, there are scrubs out there made for us just search around for one that doesn't irritate your skin!
  2. Drink plenty of water. I am bad for this too, it can be quite tedious to remind yourself to drink lots of water every day but it's honestly so good for moisture in your skin!
  3. Moisturise. Moisturise after you wash your face in the morning and at night. Try oils and serums too that are moisturising - your skin will thank you for it.
  4. If you're into a matte base for your makeup try getting a matte/liquid to powder foundation and rather than setting it with lots of powder (which can show dryness a lot) try a matte setting spray! If you like a more glowy base then just don't set your face with powder everywhere - only in the areas that's essential (chin and under eye, unless you find your foundation wears off in any extra places)
Well, that's my post for today! I hope you enjoyed.

Why I'm Not Supporting Jeffree Star Anymore.

Hey lovelies!

Today is a different kind of post for me, it will probably be quite controversial and I hate to do it but I've made numerous posts including Jeffree Star's liquid lipsticks, praising him, praising his brand and I just felt like I had to address it since I'm not going to be using his products anymore.

Get to Know Me: My Piercings.

Hey lovelies!

I thought I'd just do a little post on my piercings and tattoos (past and present) since they are something I absolutely love about my appearance. I love artwork on the body and appreciate tattoos and body modification in general. So I just thought a little post on here would be good to do :)
This post will be my piercing one and I'll do another on tattoos to break it up a little!

My first ever piercing was my earlobes - I don't really remember much about it as I was about 8 or 9 I think and it was done with both ears at the same time with a gun. I remember feeling a wee bit woozy afterwards, probably just from the shock of having them done both at the once but other than that I don't remember it being particularly sore. I took them out ages ago, not because I didn't like them, I just never really wore earrings and still don't really reach for them to this day.
