Dita Von Teese Inspired Makeup Look.

Hey lovelies!

I was inspired to do this post because I honestly just love Dita Von Teese and she's just so beautiful. She makes me want to buy loads of corsets and waist train and be just the perfect pin up beautiful lady that she is, haha! Anyways, I seen this photo in particular:

And felt like I had to do a look inspired by it! Obviously it's not going to be exact but that's just life and I added highlight where she didn't and I kept to bronzer rather than adding blush, purely because of personal preference.

Anyway here is the look I came up with:

I obviously had to add the trademark Dita beauty mark and red lip :)

I used:

Anastasia Dipbrow in Dark brown to outline my brows and fill them in slightly, then Illamasqua's Browcake in Gaze to fill them in more because Dita's brows are incredibly beautiful and thick and dark, I then used a very pale shadow all over my lid once I'd primed it to highlight the brow bone and set my primer - I used MAC's Orb for that. Then I highlighted the brow bone more with a little bit of Shroom by MAC. I then went in with Makeup Geek's Shimma Shimma in the inner corner and MAC's Wedge in the crease, I made sure to thoroughly blend it out so there was no harsh lines and Makeup Geek's Peach Smoothie mixed with Orb again just above the crease to make sure it was blended nicely. I then lined my upper lashline with Illamasqua's gel liner in Infinity. I used Rimmel's Wake Me Up foundation in Ivory and Collection's Lasting Perfection concealer to get rid of some imperfections. Then going on to the lips (cause I just couldn't wait tbh) with Jeffree Star's Redrum liquid lipstick. I then went in with Anastasia's Contour Kit to bronze up my complexion and finally MAC's Soft & Gentle MSF to highlight my cheekbones!

Lip Lovin' - TAG.

Hey lovelies!

So, I was searching for tags to do since I was just super in the mood for one and I found this one on this blog and I am a total lip product addict so I figured why not! :)

1. What was the first lipstick you ever owned?

Oh man, honestly I don't even really remember, how sad is that?! I do remember always stealing my mums makeup and that probably included lipsticks, haha! 

2. Which lip product has been the biggest disappointment?

Uhm, probably the Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Black Cherry, reason being that I thought it would be an awesome dupe for a MAC lipstick (I think it's called Dark Side) and it just wasn't, the pigment was no where near as strong.

3. Which lipstick is your holy grail product?

Definitely any liquid lip by Jeffree Star. I have a post coming up on two more colours I got and adore, plus this review on Redrum by him. The formula is perfect and they are unbelievably long lasting - what is there not to like?

4. Roughly how many lipsticks do you own?

If I actually say this, all of you that are reading have to not judge me, ok? Ok? So I have roughly between 29 - 34 lipsticks (I cant quite remember if I've thrown out the extra 5 so that's why I'm saying that, but definitely 29)

5. If you could only ever have 3 lip products for the rest of your life, which 3 would they be and why?

Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Redrum because it's the perfect red of my whole life and existence and everyone else's existence with the most perfect formula, MAC's Velvet Teddy because it's the perfect nude and it's a very comfortable matte formula from them and probably Illamasqua ESP lipstick because it's bright purple and makes me feel like a beautiful alien princess when I wear it, tbh.

6. Matte or glossy?

Matte, all the way. 

7. Which is the most expensive lipstick you own?

Probably my Illamasqua lipsticks. I think they're roughly 18-19 quid each so that's a lot, haha!

8. What is the cheapest lippie in your collection?

Probably a L'OReal one tbh.

9. What is your favourite non lipstick lip product?

Honestly I don't know, does lipliner count?? If so, that.

10. What non traditional lip colour would you love to see come into fashion?

BLACK HONEY! I love black lips and I love rocking them (I also think anyone can rock them) but I hate the stigma that comes with it (goth, emo etcetc)

This is just the first round and it may get me no where but I just wanted to try it anyway and jump into something new.

Makeup Geek Mini-Haul!

Hey lovelies!

I am coming at you with a mini haul from Beauty Bay in the form of four gorgeous Makeup Geek eyeshadows!

As some of you may know from this post here where I do a full review on more of the Makeup Geek eyeshadows, I love them! For the price and the intense pigmentation, they truly are amazing!

I'll start this off with the only matte one I got!

This is Cocoa Bear - I'm sure if you watch Jaclyn Hill or Rosi Jay Pierce you'll have heard them talk about this, it's a gorgeous warm brown transition and outer-v colour. I love it. Very happy I picked this up, prefer it to Peach Smoothie actually!

Next up is a foiled eyeshadow formula.

This is Grandstand. It's an absolutely gorgeous shimmery beautiful gold colour. It's definitely more of a bronzey-gold but it's gorgeous all over the lid. Definitely worth picking up!

Next two are the duo-chrome formula.

Top one is Steampunk and the bottom one is Blacklight. Steampunk is quite browny/green in colour, kind of like if you see oil on the road and it flashes lots of different sort of colours. It's really different and pretty. Blacklight is lilac/blue/pink. It's also gorgeous, it's quite interesting as in inner corner highlight actually. 

As always these eyeshadows blend like an absolute dream and they are well worth buying.

Night Out Makeup, Hair + Outfit.

Hey lovelies!

You should read part one of this little blog post here if you haven't. If you have, I'll get right to it!

I always pick my outfit realistically like a week in advance, so I'll make sure it's washed, ironed etc and laid out over the chair that sits at my vanity table.

I pretty much just straightened my hair and put my fringe up and away from my face. My whole outfit is from Boohoo.com, the top and shoes you won't be able to get anymore, the bra and skirt you will.

Getting Ready For a Night Out Routine.

Hey lovelies!

I thought for todays post I'd write about my routine I have (and have had ever since I was about 16) for a night out and all my prep.

The night before my night out I'll make sure whatever I want to wear is clean, dry, ironed etc and lay it out so I know it's definitely there. Generally I've planned my outfit like a week in advance, haha! I like to have beers and a can (or two) of monster in too so that I know I've got something to drink whilst I get ready.

The morning of my night out I'll be up relatively early, have a playlist of some sort for getting ready sorted and my makeup brushes all washed. Whenever I go out it's normally to Cathouse in Glasgow, haha, and I don't really end up leaving till about half 9/10 so I pretty much have all day to do whatever.

I'll always go for a bath as early as I can so I can let my hair air-dry after washing it. I use these products religiously in my bath:

Once my baths over with I'll make sure I've eaten something pretty heavy - like pasta or pizza to make sure my stomachs full. I'll keep my skin on my face moisturised right up until I'm ready to put my makeup on - I have very dry, dehydrated skin so this helps to make my makeup go on perfectly. This one is my favourite for doing it (and free since it's a prescription moisturiser, even better ha!)

I'll also moisturise my body using the first one or my Soap & Glory Righteous Butter.

Next I'll move on to my makeup after a world of lazing around then it's onto styling my hair and finally the outfit and predrinks!

The Power Of Makeup.

Hey lovelies!

If you haven't heard of this sort of 'trend' I guess you could call it then you must have been under a rock! I first came across it by Nikkie Tutorials who did a video and bloody loved the concept behind it (I actually think it was her that came up with the whole thing as well, but don't quote me on that) and I thought I'd do my own post on it. If you haven't seen Nikkie's The Power of Makeup video I'll link it here. Another one that's definitely worth checking out is Patrick Starrr's which I'll link here. Watch them, honestly, they are worth a watch!

Okay, so for anyone who doesn't know - I have sparse brows, they don't grow even if I leave them to do so for years, I have red and blotchy skin, it's incredibly dry, my lips are uneven and my skin is also recovering from acne, my eyes are small without makeup on them and my skin in general ain't great. Are these insecurities of mine? Somewhat. Are they the reason I wear makeup? No! 

Makeup is fun for me and I absolutely love it, I'd rather wear makeup and express my creativity than not. It's just something that's a part of me, I don't wear it to impress anyone and I certainly don't use it to 'lie' about what I really look like under it all, haha. I am SO fed up with all this "this is why you take a girl swimming on the first date" shit, just because you, men, are insecure about yourself. Obviously we don't look like what we do with makeup on but who the fuck cares?! 

I thought I'd also add in a couple of pics of the completed makeup.

Would You Rather? - TAG

Hello lovelies!

I'm back with a Would You Rather? Beauty Edition Tag today :) 

You should let me know in the comments what the most difficult question would be for you to answer!

I just thought this would be a quick and easy post for me to do today so here goes!

QUESTIONS:
1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

I'm a massive lipstick girl - liner and lipstick is all a girl really needs to rock a look so I'd say I'd rather lose all of my eyeshadows/palettes.

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

Honestly this doesn't really bother me, I loved having long hair and when I had to cut it because I'd ruined it I wasn't too bothered - it's just hair, it grows! :) So chop it all off.

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

Eugh, I hate blush, haha, so I'd rather neither but for this I'll pick coral.

4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

Makeup. 100%.

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

I've done both and like both - and now you can get eyeliners that are lipstick colours and lipstick that is eyeliner colours! Anyway if it's talking like satin-finish lipsticks I'd probably rather apply eyeliner as lipstick.

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

I have never shopped at Sephora - sad face! :( We don't have it here in the UK, so MAC, easy peasy.

7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

One lip colour. Red all the way, baby.

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

I'm a chunky monkey so I already wear winter clothes in summer so I'd rather that.

9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

Dark nails, not fond of bright nails.

10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

Favourite lip product fo sure.

11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

Messy bun obviously.

12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?

Can I choose both for this one, haha? I hate lipgloss and find painting my nails really tedious... But I'll go for never use lipgloss. 

13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?

I pretty much have no eyebrows so I'd rather shave them and then I can do them however I want! Haha

14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

Without nail polish, without a doubt!
